Jax is 47 months old.

We had a great week in Tot School. Jax truly loves it and I was glad to be hanging out with him. Our focus this week:
Letter Dd (RRSP curriculum, sounds, writing)
Dd is for Dinosaur (theme)
YCR Lesson 1 (sight word: the)
Jaxson started off the week by painting his Letter Dd Bible verse from RRSP. Julianne joined in and played ate a puzzle.
He cut his Bible verse and taped it with very little help from me!
And we worked on our RRSP craft of using positive words instead of complaining or arguing. This was great to explain to Jax that we don't say "no" and why "yes" is always nicer.
I let him cut out his thought bubles which is why they are so big. And I really let him work on the glueing all by himself. Which explains why he used half a bottle of glue for this project.
We worked on ABC Dot to Dot page. He understood the concept really well and did great. And the picture was a dinosaur! Imagine that!
We played with Play-doh a lot. And Jax even made a letter Dd with it! He usually doesn't like to, but I guess he was in the mood....(

We painted, used stickers, and drew with markers. Lots and lots of art this week!
I started YCR Lesson 1 with Jax. He's showing interest in reading, but I don't want to push him. So we are starting with sight words and sounds of letters. If he gets it, great! If he doesn't, then I am at least exposing him to it.
I had him cut out the different sentences with the sight words in it and put it in our tabletop chart. We searched for the word "the."
We colored the word "the". Then I had him write the word on our white board and then match up the letter tiles. He did great!
Then we took one of his books and looked for the word "the" in it. He liked finding that!
We practiced writing the letter Dd from RRSP.
And we did another ABC Dot to Dot page. This one had more of the alphabet and I could tell this was harder for him.
And the
Color Wheel from Mama Jenn was the hit of the week!
Basically, it's water with three food colors in it. Using an eye dropper, you mix the colors on the worksheet. He just was fascinated that yellow+blue=green! After mixing the colors, we would put a paper towel over it and the colors would soak through. He did this for over a 1/2 hour. No joke!
Next week: Pp is for Pirates!
I'm linking to 1+1+1=1 and Homeschool Creations!
