Bible in 90 Days: Week 12
Reading: Matthew 26:57-Acts 6:7
Studying: 1 John 1:1-4
In the midst of reading the Bible in 90 Days, I'm also over at Good Morning Girls studying the book of 1 John. These two readings overlap for about 15 days, so I figured I could do both for that short amount of time. It's funny how reading and studying different books in the Bible can very much give you the same message.
Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” John 6:29
It seems easy just to believe in Jesus. That's all that God wants from us. But whoa, it's so hard!
We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 1 John 1:1
Did you catch that? John listened to Jesus. He saw Jesus. He touched Jesus. We're not reading something that someone just overhead...we're reading an eyeswitness account of the very person who was in close with Jesus!
On Fridays, we have reflection time over the verse we had read throughout the week. In verse 3, John states that they are proclaiming the good news about Jesus.
And that is all that Jesus wants. He wants us to believe in Him and then share with others! So simple and yet so hard, huh?
So here was the reflection for the end of the week: I am going to put my faith into action by....
{What do you feel Jesus is calling you to do?}
