Rejoicing in the Lord: Happy Thanksgiving!

I wrote this post back in June but just never published it.  I discovered this the other day and it kinda went along with Thanksgiving!

My son used his bathtime to go the bathroom. I was pretty grossed out.
But instead of bring mad or upset I chose to thank God that I had a son who uses the tub as a toilet.

After cleaning that mess up, he proceeded to spill my glass of water all over the dining room table. Not a big deal but after having to clean up the tub and him I really got annoyed. Again I chose joy that he is a rambuctious little boy curious about life

And after refilling his goldfish crackers in his bowl, he proceeded to dump them out of the floor. And he said, “uh oh.” Like it was a surprise this happened! And then he stepped on the as he was picking them up. But I was glad he that he was discovering the world around him. Even if it meant crumbs on my carpet after I had vacuumed.

I know of two people right now with serious Heath issues.  They are battling for their life.
It gives me a different perspective being a mother to Jax. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Laugh with your child. Get on the floor and play blocks wih him. Read him a story. Even if it is the millionth time reading it and you could recite it forward and backwards. My living room may be strewn with toys. I may step on march box cars on my way to the kitchen.  And I will find crumbs in my couch. But that’s ok with me. That means I have a fun little boy at home!

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
