Here is the evidence that Jax loves to help unload the washer. Anytime it beeps he will run to it and wait for me to open the door. He will do the rest! If only he would be this eager to help when he gets older!

Happy May Day! Check out what came on my door step today from my Grandma and Grandpa…
Aren’t they pretty?
And here’s Jax checking them out. He thought they were pretty too!
Is there anything better than Sonic? I don’t think so! We decided to get dinner at Sonic before we headed over the mountain pass on our way home. Jax ate everyone of those fries. He loved them! I enjoyed my Sonic Blast and a Frito Chili Cheese Wrap. This dinner is soooo unhealthy and yet so good!
Jax and I took a quick trip over to Moses Lake to visit Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa on Monday and Tuesday. It was a four hour car ride and Jax did awesome both there and home! I was pretty proud of him.
He enjoyed being spoiled by them and had fun going through all the kitchen drawers and cupboards. He’s a busy little boy.
We plan to go back over next month but this time Justin will go with us! I don’t think I’m up to driving that alone again. It was definitely worth it, but I sure was tired when we did get home!
Jaxson has a new word to add to his list. He says “out”. Although, he
sounds more Canadian when he says it. It comes out more like “oot.”.
Anytime we are in a room (cause he is my shadow) and I need to leave
it, I just say “out” and he will follow me and say it over and over
again. It’s too funny!
I’m tricking Jaxson to think that housework is fun!
When the
washer beeps Jaxson runs over to it and will hand me the items to put
in the dryer. It is a front loader, so it was the perfect height for
him.
As I’ve said before, Jax also likes unloading the dishwasher. Doesn’t lick the silverware anymore, thank goodness!
When I am dusting, I give him his own rag and he will “dust” everything. Including the carpet!
He loves the vacuum. He chases it all around the house. He occasionally gets in my way, but he has fun so that’s ok!
If I am in the kitchen, he will give me a kitchen towel from the drawers. This is pretty helpful. I’m glad he is so attentive.
I only wish he would think that housework is this cool when he older!
Justin had to go to Seattle yesterday for a couple of meetings. When he came home last night he brought me these!
Fresh from Pike Place Market! And he got it right too. I love the red tulips with yellow on them. I think they are the prettiest!
Another gorgeous day on the island. Time to go to City Beach again! This time Justin was in Seattle so it was just Jax and I. I took him down to the Lagoon to play in the dirt. I also taught him he can throw things in the water. See?
And then he started playing in the dirt.
And then starting eating the dirt! Yup, that’s my boy. He hated it and started crying once he had a taste of it.
Then he got pretty wet and dirty.
He had a blast and we will have to do that again. I’ll remember to bring a change of clothes so when he does get wet, I can get him dry. But I wasn’t planning on him getting into the dirt like he did. I guess he is all boy!
Today was a gorgeous day on the island. We couldn’t stay indoors so we headed to City Beach. Here are some of our pics. Enjoy!
Today I planned on getting groceries and running some errands. Instead, I find myself at the Police Station!
Ok, that was a little dramatic. I’ll back track a bit. Jaxson and I are running errands and we stop at Walmart. I loaded our stuff that we bought into the trunk and drop the cart off in its holder. (what are those things called?) I thought it was weird that it was the only cart there. Anyways, I get Jaxson and put him in his car seat. We drive to Albertson’s which is litterally next door. I park and realize that I don’t have my purse. I checked all over in the car and in the trunk and it is not there. At this point I think I left it in the cart. No problem. It has only been a couple of minutes and not many people are at Walmart. I drive back to the cart holder and the cart is GONE! Which means my purse is gone. I checked the trunk again just to make sure it didn’t suddenly appear. I notice a car off to my right and a guy in it. He’s looking at me and then backs up and circles the parking lot a couple of times. I try not to judge people but he looked a little thuggish. I did wonder if he was the one that took it.
At this point, I only thought about my debit card. There are so many places now that don’t check cards or even get signatures under $25 and I didn’t want him/her accessing my bank account. I did go inside Walmart to see if anyone turned in a purse (wishful thinking) and then drove straight to the bank. I got my debit card canceled.
I then called Justin and asked him if he could come home and help me. Jaxson was getting hungry for lunch and needed a nap. As soon as Justin got here I left to get a new driver’s license and to file a police report.
Here’s the thing. I couldn’t help but see God’s hand in this every step of the way. This morning before I had left, I decided that I would pay for things with our debit card instead of cash. So I didn’t stick any extra cash in my wallet. When I went to mail some things at the Post Office, I paid cash even though I should have used my debit card. I was being lazy and I didn’t want to mess with the machine. So the total that this thief got a way with? A measly $15.
Ever since I have been listening to Dave Ramsey we don’t use credit cards. So I didn’t have a credit card in my wallet. I only had to worry about canceling my debit card.
When I was at the Police Station, they guy asked me if I was wearing this blue sweater that I had on. I was, and he said that was good. Because on the Walmart survalliance video they will be able to spot me (the sweater is a little bright) and then try to find the thief. I almost wore a grey sweater today but then suddenly changed my mind.
But the biggest thing that convinced me that God had his hand in this? I was getting out my passport to go the DMV to get my new license and an envelope fell to the ground. I picked it up and it said “Nicole’s Clothes Money”. I opened it up and found $60 bucks in it. So I lost $15, but gained $60. I didn’t even remember about that money I had apparently stashed away.
But I am sad cause I liked my purse. And my cute sunglasses were in it too. Oh, and my coupons that I was going to use to go shopping with. But that was it. Nothing that I really couldn’t replace. And I am very thankful for that.
